Lydia L. DiNardo Battistone

Lydia L. DiNardo Battistone, 90, formerly of Bentleyville, died Saturday, June 8, 2013, in Washington County Health Center, Chartiers Township.
She was born February 24, 1923, in Cokeburg, a daughter of the late Dominick Sr. and Pauline Zaricki DiNardo.
Mrs. Battistone was a graduate of Ellsworth High School.
She was a member of Ave Maria Parish and its choir.
Surviving are two children, Dr. Lorena M. Surber of Charleston, W.Va., and Arthur J. Battistone (Sharon) of Washington; grandchildren Dr. Claire Marie Surber, Charles McKinley Surber III, Thomas Jonathan Surber, Dr. Sarah Nelson, Joshua Battistone and Jared Battistone; great-grandchildren Charles M. Surber IV, Evelyn Surber, Eleanor Surber, Joseph Nail and Elyse Nelson; brothers Nore DiNardo and Alex Berardinelli (Shirley), all of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are her husband, Arthur A. Battistone, who died June 13, 2002; sisters Anne Infanti, Gilda Greco, Sylvia Magone and Clara Jackson; and brothers Dominick, James, Danny and Joseph DiNardo and Billy Berardinelli.
Mrs. Battistone was cared for by the staff at Washington County Health Center.
Friends are welcome from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville, 724-239-2255, where a prayer service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Ave Maria Church, Bentleyville, with the Rev. Edward L. Yuhas, as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Luke Cemetery of Ave Maria Parish.
