Christopher B. Cook

Devoted golfer loved spending time with his son

Christopher B. Cook of Brookfield, Ohio, passed away Friday evening, May 31, 2013, in St. Joseph’s Health Center in Warren, Ohio, after a short illness. He was 63.

Born February 26, 1950, in Elyria, Ohio, he was a son of Charles R. and Beverly Barnes Cook.

Mr. Cook was a graduate of Trinity High School in Washington and went on to further his education at Hiram (Ohio) College and received his master’s degree in hospital administration from George Washington University, Washington, D.C.

During his career of more than 32 years, he served as vice president of Lee Hospital, chief operations officer and chief executive officer of several hospitals, including Mercy, Clearfield, Kane and UPMC-Horizon, and was most recently operations manager of Primary Health Network.

Mr. Cook loved spending time with his son, Nicholas, and was a devoted golfer and member of Avalon Country Club at Buhl Park, Hermitage, and Oak Tree Country Club, Shenango Township.

He leaves behind a son, Nicholas B. Cook of Hollidaysburg; mother Beverly B. Cook of Columbia, S.C.; and two brothers, William Cook and wife Pat of Washington and Clinton Cook of Columbia.

Deceased is his father.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 15, in Faith United Presbyterian Church, 900 East Beau Street, Washington. Memorial contributions may be made in his honor to American Diabetes Association, Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
