Robert Joseph Varner, 56, of Clarksville, formerly of Finleyville, died Sunday, June 9, 2013, in UPMC-Presbyterian hospital, Pittsburgh.
He was born October 13, 1956, in Canonsburg, a son of the late William Donald and Rachel Ankrom Varner.
Mr. Varner was a 1975 graduate of Ringgold High School.
He had served in the Army National Guard formerly stationed in Finleyville.
Surviving are a son, Robert Anthony Varner of Clarksville; a daughter, Jessica Varner of Finleyville; a stepson, David Garrity of Finleyville; a brother, James Matthew Varner (Gloria) of Redding, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.
He also leaves behind a close friend, Lesa Carter of Finleyville.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, are a brother, William Andrew Varner, and a sister, Donna Rae Garris.
There will be no public visitation. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 15, in Kegel Funeral Home Inc., Tim P. Kegel, supervisor, Finleyville, with Deacon Vic Satter of St. Francis of Assisi Church officiating.
