Virginia Lee “Ginger” DeBlasio of Bridgeville departed this world to be an angel at the Lord’s side, doing his work in another place.
Loved dearly by family and friends, she willingly put needs of others before hers without complaint.
Miss DeBlasio collected antiques, enjoyed swimming and had a keen eye for photography.
She was connected deeply to her sisters and shared five things she was grateful for every day; among these was always family, especially Randy, David and Samantha.
Miss DeBlasio was rooted and grounded in Christ. She nourished her soul daily and believed in spiritual responsibility. She attended Hillside Christian Community in Carnegie.
She loved her work at Children, Youth, and Family Services of Allegheny County and was three days short of retirement when the cancer took over and she left us like a feather on the breath of God.
Miss DeBlasio had a vibrant passion for animals and fed the birds and her deer. She’ll be missed by her kitties, Buddy and Toby. She will be led to the church and cemetery by a horse-drawn hearse.
Surviving are mother Marjorie DeBlasio of Cecil; brother Samuel DeBlasio of Galveston, Texas; two sisters, Sharon Lynn Stankas of Houston, Texas, and Jennifer Joan (Randy) Conway of Cecil; aunts Dorothy Harshman and Jan Gordon; many nieces and nephews; and several cousins.
She had special prayers of thanks for her friends forever, Joan, Irene and Vicky.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday in Coleman-Taylor Funeral Services, 3378 Millers Run Road, Route 50, Cecil, PA.
The celebration of her life will start at 10:15 a.m. Saturday, June 15, in the funeral home, followed by a service at 11 a.m. in Venice Presbyterian Church, with Pastor Fred Soberg officiating. Interment will follow in Venice Cemetery.
