Charlotte Tehi
Longtime member of St. Oliver Plunkett Parish
Charlotte Tehi, 89, of Wadsworth, Ohio, formerly of Vestaburg, died Sunday, June 9, 2013, in Alter Care of Wadsworth.
She was born May 28, 1924, in Nemacolin, a daughter of the late Leo and Genevieve Dempsey O’Hara.
A homemaker, Mrs. Tehi attended Jefferson-Morgan High School.
She was a longtime member of St. Oliver Plunkett Parish, Fredericktown, where she was a member of its Christian Mothers and Ladies Guild. She also sang in the choir.
Mrs. Tehi was a member of Bethlehem-Center Senior Center, Vestaburg, and, for many years, was a poll worker.
On February 15, 1941, she married Michael Tehi Sr., who died February 6, 2007. They celebrated 56 years of marriage.
Surviving are son Michael Tehi Jr. (Beatrice) of Wadsworth; three granddaughters, Marlene Tehi, E. Renee Tehi and B. Lorraine Dirks; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her parents and husband, are son Thomas John Tehi, who died in 1943; seven sisters, Catherine Roble, Esther Arrigo, Rose O’Hara, Mary Columbus, Irene O’Hara, Gertrude Mistick and Winifred Lear; and brother Michael O’Hara. Mrs. Tehi was the last of her immediate family.
Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, June 15, in St. Michael Archangel Church of St. Oliver Plunkett Parish, 20 Bank Street, Fredericktown, where a Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Paul Grunebach as celebrant. Interment will follow in Westland Cemetery, Brownsville. Greenlee Funeral Home, 42 Bank Street at Crawford Road, Fredericktown, is in charge of arrangements.
