Theodore C. Dempe
Retired airline mechanic served in Army
Theodore C. Dempe, 81, of Coraopolis, died Friday, June 14, 2013, in St. Clair Hospital, Mt. Lebanon.
He was born June 24, 1931, in North Bessemer, a son of the late Joseph and Lucille McGinnis Dempe.
Mr. Dempe served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
For 40 years, he was an airline mechanic with TWA and worked at the Greater Pittsburgh Airport, the majority of time, before retiring in 1996.
He was a member of the International Association of Machinists.
Mr. Dempe enjoyed hunting and fishing and tinkering with cars. He loved fixing things and helping people.
Surviving are three sons, C. Michael (Joanne) Dempe of Mt. Lebanon, David Joseph (Amy) Dempe of Dayton, Ohio, and Keith Alan Dempe of Coraopolis; former wife Clara Ann Dempe of Oakdale; sister Viola Jean “Porky” Hampson of McDonald; two brothers, John Donald “Jack” Dempe of McDonald and Robert Evan “Bud” Dempe of Sturgeon; and six grandchildren, Benjamin, Danie, Nicole, Jeremy, Christopher and Joshua Dempe.
Deceased are three brothers, Hinton Alvin “Skeets,” Joseph Ralph and William Eugene “Bill” Dempe and two sisters, Bertha Laverne Foglio and Betty Hampson.
A memorial gathering of close friends and family will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., the time of a celebration of life service, Saturday, June 29, in Nation Funeral Home Inc., 220 East Lincoln Avenue, McDonald.
