Loved being mother, grandmother
Beatrice J. Kramer, 79, of Waynesburg, formerly of Mather, died Saturday, June 15, 2013.
She was born April 30, 1934, in Greensboro, a daughter of the late James A. Sr. and Olive Kate Whitaker Lowden.
Mrs. Kramer was a graduate of Point Marion High School.
In her youth, she loved to play ball, and going to church was very important to her.
She had many jobs in her lifetime, from working in the tobacco fields to working at the Pentagon. But the job she loved most was being a mother and grandmother. She worked her way into everyone’s hearts and will forever remain there. Her family wishes to say, “Job well done, Mom!”
Mrs. Kramer was a member of Fountain of Life Church in Washington.
On June 29, 1957, she married Wayne “Tink” Kramer, who died October 29, 1998.
Surviving are children Kurt Kramer of Waynesburg, Brenda Prodan and husband Don of Carmichaels and Sondra DePue and husband Brian of Carmichaels; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Rhea Howell of Collier, Dixie Goble of Gary, Ind., and Sue Sullivan of Smithfield; and a brother, James A. Lowden Jr. of Augusta, Ga.
Deceased are a sister, Marge King, and three brothers, Victor Whitaker, Arlie Whitaker and Gerald Whitaker.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, with Pastor Todd O. Crouch officiating. Interment will follow in Jefferson Cemetery.
