Charles E. Abraham
U.S. Army veteran of WWII
Charles E. Abraham, 87, of Canonsburg, died Sunday, June 16, 2013, in his home.
He was born March 9, 1926, in Canonsburg, a son of the late Elias and Anna Khalil Abraham.
Mr. Abraham enlisted in the U.S. Army during his senior year of high school and received his diploma from Canonsburg High School, while serving.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II in the European Theater.
Mr. Abraham was Protestant.
He was employed at Cooper Industries as an expediter and also worked at The Meadows Racetrack & Casino as an usher. He was passionate about The Meadows racetrack, Pittsburgh Steelers and spending time in discussions with his friends at King’s restaurant.
His wife, Helen Massack, is deceased.
Surviving are two sons, Charles R. (Denise) Abraham of McMurray and Gregory Abraham of Atlantic City, N.J.; a daughter, Troy Ann Abraham of Canonsburg; a sister, Martha Abraham of Canonsburg; three grandchildren, Matthew Abraham, Alexis (Doug) Vitale and Samantha Abraham; a sister-in-law, Gwen Abraham; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to his parents and wife, are two brothers, Charles Abraham, during early childhood, and John Abraham, and two sisters, Helen Krusienski and Julie Shehab.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Mario L. DeAngelo Funeral Home, 194 East College Street, Canonsburg, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 20. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
