Machinist served in U.S. Navy

John Edward Mt.Joy, 44, of Nemacolin, died suddenly Saturday, June 15, 2013, in his home.

He was born January 21, 1969, in Cleveland, Ohio, a son of Irvin L. Mt.Joy of Carmichaels and the late Carol Ann Fortley Mt.Joy.

Mr. Mt.Joy attended Carmichaels area schools and graduated from Winston-Salem (N.C.) High School.

He served with the U.S. Navy and was a machinist.

Surviving, in addition to his father, are a son, Logan Mt.Joy; a daughter, Alyssa Mt.Joy; a brother, Irvin Lee Mt.Joy Jr. of North Carolina; paternal grandmother Frances Mt.Joy; an uncle, Richard Mt.Joy; six aunts, Dalene Watson, Joyce Busti, Mary Jo Corcoran, Kim Nath, Shaneen Krebs and Patty Fortley; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and acquaintances.

Mr. Mt.Joy will be sadly missed by all of his immediate family.

Deceased are an infant brother, Irvin Lee Mt.Joy, who died at birth; maternal grandparents Charles and Helen Fortley; paternal grandfather Ralph Edwin Mt.Joy; and an aunt, Paula Huff.

There will be no public viewing or service and all arrangements are under the direction of Yoskovich Funeral Home, 724-966-5500, Martin J. Yoskovich, director, 300 South Vine Street, Route 88, Carmichaels. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Humane Society of Greene County, 183 Jefferson Road, Waynesburg, PA 15370.
