Bonnie Muscavitch Harbaugh, 66, wife of Dr. Mark Dell Harbaugh, died Friday, June 14, 2013, in her home on St. Helena Island, S.C.
Mrs. Harbaugh was born March 29, 1947, in Waynesburg, a daughter of the late Lee Stanley and Hazel Welling Muscavitch.
She retired from Sangamon County Schools in Springfield, Ill. She taught elementary and special education classes for more than 25 years. In addition to public school teaching, she also operated a preschool in Virginia, was a U.S. mail carrier in Pennsylvania as well as a clothes designer and model.
Mrs. Harbaugh was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was an avid quilter.
She received a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a master’s degree from Illinois State University, Bloomington, Ill.
Surviving are her husband, Dr. Mark Dell Harbaugh of St. Helena Island; two daughters, Laura Lee Kneebone and Heidi Mills Baxter, both of Beaufort, S.C.; two brothers, Danny and Donnie Muscavitch, both of Rices Landing; four sisters, Melissa Whitehead of Houston, Texas, Marlee Roberts of Boxbourgh, Mass., Jennifer McClung of Spartanburg, S.C., and Amanda Davis of Rices Landing; and two grandchildren, Olivia Lee Kneebone and Sheaffer Lee Baxter.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Thursday, June 20, in Anderson Funeral Home, Beaufort. Memorial services will begin at 3 p.m. Thursday in Carl Anderson Memorial Chapel.
