David J. “Fido” Fidanzato, 56, of Monongahela, Carroll Township, died Saturday, June 22, 2013, in his home after a brief illness.
Born May 25, 1957, in Monongahela, he was a son of the late Patsy and Rose Vignoli Fidanzato.
After graduating in 1975 from Monongahela High School, he began working as an electrician and eventually joined the Local Electricians Union 5.
Mr. Fidanzato was a member of St. Damien of Molokai Parish, St. Anthony Church, and a member of the Slovak Club in Monongahela.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially boating on the river in the summers.
Surviving are his wife, Linda Popp Fidanzato, who he married August 7, 1982; a son, David J. Fidanzato II of Monongahela; two brothers, Joseph Fidanzato of Monongahela and Patsy Fidanzato of New Bern, N.C.; godmother Ann Todora of New Eagle; father-in-law Joseph J. Popp of Monongahela; and two brothers-in-law, Joseph Popp of Monongahela and Patrick and wife Robin Popp of Bethel Park.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, is his stepmother, Antoinette “Netty” Fidanzato.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Monday in Marshall Marra Funeral Home, 216 Chess Street, Monongahela, 724-258-6767, marshallmarrafuneralhome.com. A prayer service will begin in the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 25, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Damien of Molokai Parish, St. Anthony Church. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Carroll Township.
