Albert Michael Gallik

Albert Michael Gallik, 84, of Marianna, died Saturday, June 22, 2013, in Strabane Woods of Washington.
He was born September 11, 1928, in California, a son of the late John and Elizabeth Petrick Gallik. Mr. Gallik was a 1947 graduate of East Pike Run Township High School.
After high school, he joined the U.S. Navy, where he proudly served until his retirement in 1978, with the rank of torpedo man first class.
He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Evangelical Church of Glyde, where he served as a councilman.
On April 14, 1956, he married Shirley Jean Friend, with whom he had shared more than 56 years of marriage.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two daughters, Cheryl Rockovich (Stanley) of Canonsburg and Paula (Eric) Hall of Nokesville, Va.; a daughter-in-law, Tamara Gallik of Virginia; a sister, Josephine Zavatchen of Richeyville; 10 grandchildren, Jenifer Mayes, Elizabeth Austin, Randall Baughman, Johnathan Balsalmo and Christian, Hannah, Kadi, Olivia, Sophia and Issac Gallik; a stepgrandson, David Rockovich; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, are two sons, Eugene Michael Gallik and Douglas Paul Gallik; a sister, Elizabeth Palgutta; and three brothers, Leonard Gallik, John Gallik and William Gallik.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Nichol Funeral Home, 1873 East Maiden Street, Washington. Additional visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., the time of service, Wednesday, June 26, in Bethlehem Lutheran Evangelical Church, Glyde, with Pastor Peter D. Asplin officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
