Kenneth A. Georgetti
”The Legend”
Kenneth A. Georgetti, 61, of Avella, passed away at 10:50 p.m. Sunday, June 23, 2013, in Washington Hospital surrounded by family and friends.
He was born November 1, 1951, on the Georgetti farm in Avella, a son of the late Albert J. “Patch” Georgetti and Ruth Wilson Georgetti of Avella.
Mr. Georgetti attended Avella High School and was a resident of Washington and Avella for the past 20 years. He was known as “The Legend” by family and friends.
He had been employed as a coal miner at Crescent Hills Mine of Daisytown and as the farm foreman at Breezy Heights of Avella.
Mr. Georgetti loved farming and tending to his cattle, spending time with family and friends and his two dogs, Trouble and Jovan.
On July 22, 1993, he married April Marie Baggus, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Christopher Kenneth Georgetti of Tampa, Fla.; a stepson, Jason Keenan and Millie Glaze of Hickory; a sister, Cindy Georgetti of Canal Fulton, Ohio; five brothers, Thomas (Cynde) Georgetti of Avella, Sam (Judy) Georgetti of Avella, Jody Georgetti and Juanita Hamilton of Avella, and Dude (Tammy) Georgetti and Rowdy (Myrna) Georgetti, both of Wellsburg, W.Va.; two grandsons, Huntr Christopher Georgetti and Austn Tyler Georgetti, both of Tampa; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
He also will be missed by a special friend, Rosemary Rush.
Deceased, in addition to his father, are a nephew, Jimmy Bauduin; and a brother-in-law, Thomas Fawcett.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Jerome A. Stefkovich Funeral Home Inc., 18 Campbell Street, Avella, PA 15312, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 27. Burial will be in Independence Cemetery, Avella. Immediately after the burial, friends and family are invited to a gathering at 419 Washington Pike, Avella, the home of his mother, Ruth Georgetti.
