Gertrude V. Moll Scopel

Gertrude V. Moll Scopel, 89, of Claysville, passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2013.
She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony; loving mother of Donna (Craig) Meyers of Wexford, Mark (Nancy) of Eighty Four, Cindy (Chuck) Anderson of Claysville, Jane (Jim) DeSantis of Wheeling, W.Va., and Wendy (Jim) Porter of Wexford; grandmother of 16; great-grandmother of six; and sister of Richard and Raymond Moll.
Mrs. Scopel is best known throughout the community for her generous nature.
As a member of Sacred Heart Church, she devoted much of her time on the church council, organizing rummage sales and manning fish fries to raise money to build the church social hall. She volunteered many hours to various fundraising organizations throughout Claysville and Pittsburgh communities. She had a special knack for gardening and is well known for her silver queen sweet corn and cucumbers. She was an avid reader and loved watching game shows.
Friends are welcome from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Beinhauer Funeral Home, 2828 Washington Road, McMurray, 724-941-3211. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, July 1, in Sacred Heart Church, Claysville. Interment will be in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, McMurray.
