Beloved wife, mother and sister
Darlene L. Dryer, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother, 70, of Donora, died Thursday, June 27, 2013, in Mon Valley Hospital, Carroll Township.
She was born Saturday, March 13, 1943, in New Eagle, a daughter of the late Sigmond “Jiggs” Lenart and the late Irene and Edward Zukow.
Mrs. Dryer was retired from CC Dance Supply, where she was employed as a seamstress.
Her greatest joy in life was her family.
In addition to her parents, deceased are three brothers, Barry, Charles and James Lenart.
Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband, Theodore R. Dyer (Gruby) of Donora; five children, Michele (Richard) Massafra, Marlene Pitschman, Barbara Pitschman, Debra Pitschman and Donna Pitschman; two stepchildren, Theodore Dryer Jr. and Renee Dryer; older brother Donald Lenart; two sisters, Wanda Mutschler and Marlene (James) Elliott; three grandchildren, Nathan (Aimee) Massafra, Dena Massafra and Amanda Pitschman; five great-grandchildren, Logan, Dominic and Abigail Trill and Antonio and Lilliana Martin; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 1, in Anthony L. Massafra Funeral Home and Cremation Service Inc., 40 Second Street Extension, Donora, 724-379-6900. A funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Dr. George Sloan officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Donor Services, P.O. Box 4072, Pittsfield, MA 01202.
