Loved time with family

Lois R. Kowcheck, 77, of Avella, died Friday, June 28, 2013, in her daughter’s home.

She was born December 16, 1935, in South Woodbury Township, Bedford County, a daughter of the late Ellis Victor and Olive Arvilla Smith Replogle.

Mrs. Kowcheck was a 1953 graduate of Roaring Spring High School. She was a member of St. Michael Roman Catholic Church of Avella, American Legion Post 643 Ladies Auxiliary, West Middletown Garden Club and Homemakers Club of Buffalo. Mrs. Kowcheck had lived in Avella since 1956.

She loved her cats and spending time with her family.

On May 21, 1955, in St. Michael Church of Newry, she married Thomas Joseph Kowcheck, who died November 12, 2010.

Surviving are a daughter, Lori (John) Roadman of Avella; a sister, Helen Kay (Louis) Nufher of East Freedom; and many nieces and nephews.

Deceased, in addition to her husband and parents, are two sisters, Wanda Winfield and Shirley Morrison; and an infant brother, Kirby Ellis Replogle.

There will be no public visitations. A memorial Mass will be held in St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, Avella, at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Amedisys Hospice at 275 Meadowlands Boulevard, Washington, PA 15301. All arrangements are being handled by Jerome A. Stefkovich Funeral Home Inc., Avella.
