Glen L. Stewart

Glen L. Stewart, 76, of Delaware Township, Greenville, passed away at 1:34 p.m. Thursday, February 28, 2013, in UPMC-Hamot hospital, Erie.

He was born April 27, 1936, in Mt. Morris, a son of the late John R. and Helen Barr Stewart.

Mr. Stewart was an operating engineer for 45 years with the Local International Union of Operating Engineers 66B, retiring in 1991.

He was Protestant and a member of Faith Presbyterian Church in Hermitage.

Mr. Stewart was a member of the Italian Home Club in Greenville.

He enjoyed spending time with his Amish friends, playing cards and bird-watching. He previously coached Little League in Waynesburg and was a past president of the Reynolds Wrestling Club.

On December 21, 1956, he married the former Eleanor L. Finch, who survives. They were married 56 years.

Also surviving are three sons, Tyrus N. Stewart and wife Edie of Cleveland, Ohio, Brick E. Stewart and wife Kathleen of Greenville and Todd H. Stewart and wife Kelly of Pittsburgh; a daughter, Pamela D. Brown and husband Art of Greenville; 13 grandchildren, Jesse D. Fusco, Stephanie M. Fusco, Sara L. Walker and husband Jason, Kevin L. Brown, Marissa L. Stewart, Mason T. Stewart and companion Rebecca Riley, Paige C. Stewart, Drew Rossello and wife Courtney, William Rossello, Christian Ruch, Jackson Ruch, Evan R. Stewart and Shane T. Stewart; three great-grandchildren, Brylee M. Walker, Kylie I. Rossello and Jordan Walker; six sisters, Mary Joan Krency and husband Mickey of Washington, Elva Ruth Mooney and husband John of Washington, Lois Anne Pecjak and husband Jeri of Washington, Judy Lane Enlow and husband Bill of Centreville, Va., Lila Hope Ayersman and husband Joe of Mt. Morris and Sara Dawn Morrison of Niles, Ohio; two brothers, Loye Gale Stewart and wife Debbie of Cortland, Ohio, and Earl Lynn Stewart and wife Linda of Mt. Morris; and numerous nephews and nieces.

Deceased, in addition to his parents, are two brothers, John Barr Stewart and Alan Dale Stewart, and two sisters, Etta Jane Stewart and Lola Jean Tharp.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in Osborne-Williams Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 73-75 Columbia Avenue, Greenville, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 5, with the Rev. Stephen Stelle of Faith Presbyterian Church in Hermitage, officiating. Burial will be held in Rickert Cemetery, Transfer.
