Gail Elizabeth Green Songer, 49, of Washington, died unexpectedly Friday, March 1, 2013, in her home.

A twin daughter of Walter “Coach” and Judy Gee Green of Sapphire, N.C., she was born November 9, 1963, in Lansing, Mich.

As a child, the family moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.

She was married to John Songer Sr. August 13, 1983.

Mrs. Songer was the beloved mother of two children, Katie Songer of Deerfield Beach, Fla., and the late John Songer Jr., who died December 31, 2011.

Surviving are her twin sister, Carrie Green (Steve) Cirelli and their son, Tony of Ft. Lauderdale; and a brother, Christopher Green of Sapphire, his two sons, Andrew and Alex Green, and their mother Anita of Ft. Lauderdale.

Also surviving are her in-laws, Paul (Shelley) Songer Sr., Paul and Barbara Songer, Linda and Eugene Fahey, Eugene and Cindy Songer, Ann and Henry DeLong, Kathleen and Dennis Kelly, Maureen and James Witting, Elaine Reihner, Janice and Carlos Delahoz, Thomas and Cindy Songer, Kevin Songer and Randall Liebig, and Steven and Julie Songer.

She will be missed by her numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Deceased are her in-laws, Dan and Eleanor Denman.

Mrs. Songer was an animal lover and a member of Lone Pine Country Club.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Piatt and Barnhill Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, March 4, in Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Washington, with the Rev. William P. Feeney as celebrant.
