Lloyd F. Wheeler
Lloyd F. Wheeler, 82, of Washington, died at 9:35 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013, in the home of his daughter Zella, after battling his illness with cancer.
He was born September 15, 1930, in Washington, a son of the late Floyd Lloyd and Ivy Allen Wheeler.
Mr. Wheeler was employed for many years by Albert’s Packing as a butcher and later as a glassworker for Ball Glass, from where he retired.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards and dice and spending quality time with his family.
Mr. Wheeler served in the armed forces of the United States from 1951 until 1954.
On April 11, 1968, he married Pearl Anna Crowe Wheeler, who died April 20, 1998.
Surviving are three stepdaughters, Maybelle “Dolly” Alderson of Washington, Martha Ann “Marti” Frazee of Canonsburg and Sheila “Kay” Frazee (David) Wheeler of West Alexander; a daughter, Zella “Jo” Wheeler of Washington; a sister, Blanche (Demas) Frazee of East Finley; 15 grandchildren; a granddaughter, whom he raised, Cassandra “Casey” Wheeler; 26 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two grandchildren who died in infancy; a twin brother, Floyd Lloyd Wheeler, who died in the Korean War; and two sisters, Rachel McCartney and Mary Wheeler.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the time of service, Monday, March 11, in Warco-Falvo Funeral Home Inc., Wilson at East Katherine avenues, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor/director, Susan Falvo Warco, director, S. Timothy Warco II, director. Burial will follow in West Alexander Cemetery. Full military rites will be accorded graveside by American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175 and the U.S. Army.
