Jean Delsignore, 86, of Washington, died peacefully Sunday, March 3, 2013, in her home, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born October 25, 1926, in Marianna, a daughter of the late Robert Sr. and Leora McAlpine.

Mrs. Delsignore graduated at the top of her class from Washington High School in 1945.

After graduation, she was invited and accepted a position as a personal secretary for a high-ranking general at the Pentagon. Upon returning to Pennsylvania, she was employed as an operator for Bell Telephone. After marrying and having children, she was employed by RCA and spent 15 years as a glassware painter for Washington Co. She was last employed by Ball Glass.

She loved taking care of her home and family. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting and baking.

Mrs. Delsignore was a member of Chartiers Crossroads Presbyterian Church.

On June 23, 1950, she married Domenick Delsignore, who survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Larry and Vance Delsignore, both of Washington; a daughter, Kathy Delsignore of Ellicott City, Md.; a brother, David McAlpine of Tampa, Fla.; a sister, Annabelle (Marvin) Caldwell of Monongahela; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased is a brother, Robert McAlpine Jr.

Friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Piatt and Barnhill Funeral Home, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 15, with the Rev. Scott Bunting officiating. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum at Washington Cemetery.
