Margaret Velma Kopsack
Margaret Velma Kopsack, 94, of Cokeburg, died Sunday, March 10, 2013, in Rochester Manor, Rochester.
She was born June 9, 1918, in Ashley, a daughter of the late Joseph and Kate Hazlinsky.
Mrs. Kopsack was a 1937 graduate of Ellsworth/Cokeburg High School and also a 1937 graduate of Mason Frederick Beauty Academy in Pittsburgh.
She was a member of the former St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in Cokeburg and St. Joseph’s Holy Rosary Society. At the time of her death, she was a member of Ave Maria Parish in Bentleyville and the Women’s Guild Society of the church. She also was a member of Bentworth Senior Citizens.
Mrs. Kopsack enjoyed cooking, bingo, sewing and quilting.
On October 28, 1944, she married Adam “Bob” Kopsack, who died May 14, 1979.
Surviving are three sons, William Kopsack of Cokeburg, George Kopsack of Richeyville and Robert Kopsack (Rosemary) of Beaver Falls; five grandchildren, Mara and Kenny Kopsack, Karla Spenser (Brian), Nathan Kopsack and Mark Kopsack (Danielle); seven great-grandchildren, Gavin, Victoria, Elayna and Madison Kopsack and Caroline, Will and Vivienne Spenser; a sister, Betty Hudock of Flemington, N.J.; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her parents and husband, are two sisters, Mamie Cousins and Mary Baldon; and a brother, Joseph Hazlinsky.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Greenlee Funeral Home, 619 Main Street, Bentleyville, where prayers will be said at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, March 14, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Ave Maria Roman Catholic Church, Bentleyville, with the Rev. Ed Yuhas, as celebrant. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Monongahela.
