Ruth E. Hill

Ruth E. Hill, 71, of Beallsville, died Sunday, March 10, 2013, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, after a sudden illness.

She was born March 28, 1941, in Washington, a daughter of the late James Clinton and Elizabeth Christina Noble Horn.

Mrs. Hill was a homemaker and a member of Beallsville United Methodist Church and the Miner’s Club of Richeyville.

She was a very friendly and outgoing person who loved to laugh. She enjoyed dancing and was considered the number one fan of the band Black Dog Hollow. She also enjoyed camping at Big Bear Camp Grounds in Bruceton Mills, W.Va., and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her much enjoyment.

On August 24, 1957, she married Jack R. Hill Sr., who died August 17, 2009.

Surviving are four children, Jack R. Hill Jr. (Renee) of Corpus Christi, Texas, Christy Rohrer (Mark) of Washington, Mary Zuchowski of Beallsville and Thomas Hill (Jackie) of Richeyville; 11 grandchildren, Justin Hill (Crystal), Shanelle Veteto (Greg), Robin Rohrer, Abby Koss (Dave), Matthew Rohrer (Lindsey), Haley Bowen (John), Jeffrey Zuchowski, Drew Zuchowski, Mary Beth Hill, Alexis Hill and Thomas Hill Jr.; and nine great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, 2830 Main Street, Beallsville, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 14, with Pastor Brian Carroll officiating. Interment will be in Beallsville Cemetery.
