Sarah Jane Andrews Smith
Sarah Jane Andrews Smith, 91, of Elizabeth, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2013, in Sunrise of Upper St. Clair.
She was born August 12, 1921, in Duquesne and raised in West Elizabeth, a daughter of the late Edwin and Lulu Purcival Andrews.
Mrs. Smith was a retired caseworker for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and former reporter for the weekly newspaper, the Elizabeth Herald.
She was a very active member of First Presbyterian Church, Elizabeth.
Deceased is her husband, John E. Smith.
Surviving are daughters Susan Dressler of Millerstown and Anne (Larry) Myers of McDonald; grandchildren Maressa Duncan, Alesha Kerstetter and Jacob Myers; great-grandchildren Benjamin Duncan and Drake Kerstetter; and nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, 221 North Second Avenue, Elizabeth, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 14, with the Rev. Jim Davidson officiating. Burial will follow in Jefferson Memorial Park, Pleasant Hills.
