Dale W. Carson
Dale W. Carson, 50, of San Tan Valley, Ariz., died Wednesday, March 6, 2013, in Mountain Vista Medical Center, Mesa, Ariz., of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
He was born December 13, 1962, in Washington, a son of the late Roland W. “Bud” Carson and Mary Laverne “Vernie” Ashmore Carson of Claysville.
Mr. Carson was a 1980 graduate of McGuffey High School and a graduate of the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics. He was an aircraft mechanic for US Airways at Sky Harbor Airport, located in Phoenix, Ariz., for 23 years.
He was a member of Taylorstown Presbyterian Church, Sons of Taylorstown American Legion Post 907 and was president of the Home Owners Association in his community.
Mr. Carson was a member of Grey Widows, with whom he made several cross-country motorcycle trips.
He enjoyed watching NHRA drag racing, John Force being his favorite, and also enjoyed his collection of Chevy cars and trucks and his Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
On December 31, 1993, he married Carla L. Mach, who survives.
Also surviving are a sister, Kandice M. Harrison, a brother-in-law, Timothy E. Harrison, and two nephews, Deven A. and Cameron R. Harrison, all of Claysville.
Friends will be received from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday and 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, March 16, in Taylorstown Presbyterian Church. A service will be held at 11 a.m. in the church with Pastor Patricia Lutz officiating. Burial will follow in Claysville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Taylorstown Presbyterian Church, 31 Main Street, Taylorstown, PA 15365; or Sons of the American Legion, Post 907 Taylorstown, 84 Main Street, Taylorstown, PA 15365.
