Barbara Anne Coleman

Barbara Anne Coleman, 59, of Washington, died unexpectedly Wednesday, March 13, 2013, in Washington Hospital.

She was born March 29, 1953, in New Eagle, a daughter of the late Charles R. and Dorothy Shook Walters.

She was a 1971 graduate of Monongahela High School. After high school, she attended Western Area Career and Technology Center in Houston, where she earned her certification as a licensed practical nurse.

For more than 10 years, she was employed by Tylerdale Family Medicine in Washington as a staff nurse.

She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother, who loved spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed fishing and reading and was a lover of dogs.

Surviving are two daughters, Sequoia and husband Glenn Edwards III of Houston and Brianna Coleman, at home; four grandchildren, Cody and Jason Walters and Saniah and Xavier Edwards; a sister, Cathy and husband Richard Koontz of New Eagle; two brothers, Eric and wife Laurie Walters of Monongahela and Chris and wife Susy Walters of Conneautville; a sister-in-law, Lonna Walters of Carroll Township; and aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Shawn M. Walters, and a brother, Charles R. Walters Jr.

Family and friends are invited to gather from 10 a.m. to noon, the time of service, Saturday, March 16, in Frye Funeral Home Inc., 427 West Main Street, Monongahela, with the Rev.
