Betty J. Emerick

Betty J. Emerick, 84, of Cecil Township, died Friday, March 15, 2013, in Golden Living Center, North Strabane Township.

She was born February 5, 1929, at Boyce Station, a daughter of the late Robert C. and Evelyn E. Reed Green.

Mrs. Emerick was a member of Venice Presbyterian Church, former member of Fawcett United Methodist Church and past member of Upper St. Clair Grange.

She enjoyed bowling with the Sore Spots Bowling team, baking and sewing and was an award-winning singer with the Grange. She loved cutting grass and spending time with her grandchildren.

She worked as a decorator for Patti Petite Cookies in Bridgeville.

Surviving are a son, James R. (Gina) Emerick, and a daughter, Sylvia (Craig) Wallace, both of Cecil Township; a grandson, Ian Wallace of Cecil Township; a granddaughter, Lauretta (Caleb) Duncan of Marengo, Ohio; two sisters-in-law, Lauretta Green of Lone Pine and Jean Howard of Peters Township; and a brother-in-law, Alvie (Eleanor) Emerick of Peters Township.

Deceased are her husband, Donald J. Emerick, in 1983; two brothers, Donald R. and Lawrence E. Green; and a sister, Sylvia Volosky.

Friends will be received from noon to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Coleman-Taylor Funeral Services, 3378 Millers Run Road (Route 50), Cecil, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 18, with Pastor Fred Soberg officiating.

Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Park, Pleasant Hills.
