James R. Recktenwald
James R. Recktenwald, 75, of Burgettstown, passed away Friday morning, March 15, 2013, in Weirton (W.Va.) Hospital.
He was born August 27, 1937, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Raymond Henry and Catherine Queenan Recktenwald.
A 1955 graduate of St. Mary of the Mount High School, he earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Duquesne University in 1961.
Mr. Recktenwald retired in 1992 from the commonwealth of Pennsylvania Office of Vocational Rehabilitation.
He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Burgettstown, and was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 3440, Burgettstown, and Bishop Hugh C. Boyle 4th Degree Assembly. He enjoyed going to casinos.
Surviving are two sons, Jude Thomas Recktenwald of Burgettstown and Raymond Henry Recktenwald of Houston; three daughters, Rebecca Ann Recktenwald of Washington, Kristine King of Burgettstown and Mary Margaret “Margie” Mayewski of Colliers, W.Va.; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, are a son, Joseph James Recktenwald, who died in infancy, and a sister, Kathleen Panzo.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Lee & Martin Funeral Home, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, March 18, in Our Lady of Lourdes R.C. Church with the Rev. Bob Staszewski as celebrant. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Coraopolis.
