James C. Magnetta
James C. Magnetta, 100, of Washington, died Wednesday, March 13, 2013, in Washington Hospital’s emergency room.
He was born July 10, 1912, in Washington, a son of Michael and Genevieve Tissi Magnetta, who were born in Bovina, Italy.
Mr. Magnetta was employed at McVehil Plumbing as an electrician for many years, retiring in 1978.
He loved to spend time with all of his family and enjoyed building model ships and tinkering with electrical work.
On September 26, 1931, in Immaculate Conception Church, he married Louise Brach Magnetta, who died December 10, 2002.
Surviving are a daughter and caretaker, Rita Louise Brock of Washington; a sister, Adeline Porter of Washington; seven grandchildren, Cerise Cruz, Jimmy (Ruth) Magnetta, Maria Louise Donahue, Michael Magnetta, Christina Jordon, Jimmy Kenneth (Lori) Porter and Desiree Louise Porter (John Romano); eight great-grandchildren, Brad Yurkovitch, Chad Yurkovitch, Gea Cruz, Michael Magnetta, Sara Magnetta, James Kenneth Porter, Katelyn Porter and Alexis Marinsky; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two sons, James Michael Magnetta and Michael Anthony Magnetta; a great-grandson, Zachary Porter; two brothers, Louis and Lawrence Magnetta; three sisters, Mildred Lackovich, Clara Kadora and Alberta Wise; and a brother and sister who died in infancy.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in Warco-Falvo Funeral Home Inc., Wilson at East Katherine avenues, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor/director, Susan Falvo Warco, director, S.
