Nancy A. Miller
Nancy A. Miller, 86, of Washington, died Tuesday, March 19, 2013, in Donnell House, Washington.
She was born January 11, 1927, in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late Frank W. and Anne Jennings Adams.
Mrs. Miller was a 1944 graduate of Cecil High School and went on to work for Canonsburg Milling Co. and DuBois Optical Co. in the Trust Building. After raising her children, she worked for W.T. Grant for 13 years and was a house mother at the Washington Hospital School of Nursing until her retirement in 1980.
On May 3, 1949, in Houston, she married Lloyd B. Miller, who died September 22, 1989.
Surviving are a son, Douglas L. (Maribeth) Miller of Claysville; a daughter, Dora Lee Burkhart of Martins Ferry, Ohio; two grandsons, Ian Miller and Trevor J. Burkhart; three nieces, Leslie (Gino) Fonda, Amy Seraly and Dana (Todd) Patress; two nephews, Jon and Chris Miles; several great-nieces and nephews; and dear friends Sue and Helen.
She also leaves her beloved dog, Morgan.
Deceased are a brother, Frank Adams Jr.; two sisters, Shirley Miles and Martha Alderson; and a nephew, Bill Miles.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., the hour of services, Friday, March 22, in Piatt and Barnhill Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
