Lois Jean Cloutman

Lois Jean Cloutman, 79, formerly of Canonsburg, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2013, in her home in Carlisle.

She was born August 24, 1933, in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late Louis and Estelle Kosharsky Cook.

Mrs. Cloutman was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Canonsburg and in Carlisle.

She was a 1951 graduate of Canonsburg High School.

Mrs. Cloutman worked as a telephone operator with Bell Telephone of Pennsylvania.

She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, crocheting and helping the needy. In addition of living in Canonsburg, she lived in Friendswood, Texas, Chambersburg and Carlisle.

Surviving are two daughters, Melinda (Gerald) MacDonald of Reston, Va., and Debra (Jeffrey) Dortch of Carlisle; and four grandchildren, Mary Katharine, Jacob, Leo and Madeline.

Deceased, in addition to her parents, are her husband, Lester N. Cloutman, and brother Stanley B. Cook.

Friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Salandra Funeral Service Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120, where a blessing service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, March 23. Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Township.
