Virginia H. Lewis

Virginia H. Lewis, 93, of Bridgeville, peacefully passed away Sunday, March 24, 2013, surrounded by her loving family.

She was the beloved wife of the late Howard Lewis; loving mother of Barry (Andrea) Lewis, Sylvia (the late John) Gledhill and Brenda (Vince) Isner; treasured grandmother of 10; and caring great-grandmother of eight. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Lewis was an organist, choir director and piano teacher in Pittsburgh and the Washington County area for many years.

She was a member of American Guild of Organists Pittsburgh Chapter, a former member of The South Hills Chorale, a member of Christ United Methodist Church and former member of Trinity United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Lewis was a volunteer chaplain at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, Canonsburg General Hospital and Washington Hospital. She also was a volunteer at the former Mayview State Hospital.

Funeral arrangements are by Beinhauer Funeral Home. Friends are welcome from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Beinhaur Funeral Home, 2828 Washington Road, McMurray, 724-941-3211. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 29, in Christ United Methodist Church Chapel, 44 Highland Road, Bethel Park, 15102. Everyone is asked to meet at church. Interment will be private.
