Nancy Freese Knetzer

Nancy Freese Knetzer, 66, of Carmichaels, passed away Friday, March 22, 2013.

She was born April 24, 1946, a daughter of Edward P. Freese and Dorothy R. Henderson Freese of Penn Hills.

Deceased is a brother, Paul Freese of Penn Hills.

Mrs. Knetzer was the beloved wife for 43 years to Kenneth Knetzer, married August 9, 1969. Together, Mr. and Mrs. Knetzer raised four children, Jeffery P. Knetzer (Emily), Jennifer R. Hannaford (Lance), Stephen E. Knetzer (Kelly) and Kathleen E. Knetzer, who passed away June 8, 2011. She was a loving grandmother of seven, Adrielle Knetzer, Addisen Knetzer, Tristan Hannaford, Colin Hannaford, Hallie Hannaford, Ainsley Knetzer and Landry Knetzer. Also surviving are her husband’s family, whom she loved and they loved her, and one whom she called her sister from Utah.

Mrs. Knetzer and her husband’s love of country life moved them to 13 acres in Greene County in 1977.

She loved to read, garden and ride her horses. She was an active member of Carmichaels congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses since 1972. In addition to sharing her knowledge of the Bible with others, she enjoyed working with her husband on Kingdom Hall building projects.

A memorial talk will be given by Gary Proden at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 30, in Carmichaels Kingdom Hall, Route 21, Carmichaels. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Flenniken Library of Carmichaels, PA 15320. Professional services are trusted to the care of Thomas M. Smith Funeral Home & Crematory Ltd., Blawnox.
