Esther L. Williams

Esther L. Williams passed away peacefully Sunday, May 5, 2013, in Lebanon Valley Brethren Home, Palmyra, following several years of illness.

She was born May 19, 1943, in Donora.

Mrs. Williams graduated from Donora High School in 1961, from Carnegie Tech, Pittsburgh, in 1965, and received her master’s degree in social work from Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio, in 1967.

Deceased are her parents, Manuel and Rose Lieber, and a sister, Harriett Davis.

Surviving are her loving husband of 45 years, David Williams; children Lauren Kautz and Daniel Williams; grandson Samuel Kautz; and granddaughters Julian Kautz, Lyla Kautz and Becca Williams.

For more than 20 years, Mrs. Williams was employed by Harrisburg Hospital as a medical social worker. During her years of employment, she also taught at Shippensburg University, Penn State Capital Campus, and provided counseling services for Tressler Lutheran Social Services.

She loved traveling with her husband, children, grandchildren and many of her good friends. She was an avid reader who loved movies, theater, Broadway musicals and socializing. She will be sorely missed by all those who knew her.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday in Hoover Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Route 422 & Lucy Avenue, Hershey, and 1 until 2 p.m., the hour of service, Friday, May 10.
