Blanche Bacon
Blanche Bacon passed away quietly in her sleep Thursday evening, May 9, 2013, in Paramount Senior Assisted Living, Peters Township, of natural causes at the age of 103.
She was born in Trotter (Connellsville) and was married to the late J.G. Brotherton of Ocean City, N.J., and also the late Elliot Bacon of Pompano Beach, Fla., where she spent most of her retirement until she moved back to Pennsylvania in 2008.
Mrs. Bacon worked as a waitress in Ocean City; Cleveland, Ohio; Philadelphia; and Pompano Beach.
Surviving are a sister, Stella Zabrosky of Washington; brothers Walter and Ed Pleban and wife Esther, both of Uniontown; nephew Frank Gavlak and wife Kathleen of McMurray; nieces Linda Toth and husband George of Carmichaels and Ann Falkosky and Helen Jason of Cleveland, Ohio; and more than 60 other nieces and nephews.
There will be a viewing from 1 to 3 p.m., the time of services, and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, May 11, in Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home Inc., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pleasant Hills. She will then be cremated and transported to New Jersey to be buried with her first husband, J.G. Brotherton, per her wishes. All friends and family are welcome.
