Mary V. Shuppe
Mary V. Shuppe, 97, of Dilliner, passed away quietly Thursday, May 9, 2013, in her home.
She was born in Yukon, on May 13, 1915, a daughter of the late Lago and Tonka (Chos) Vukovich.
Mrs. Shupe was the last of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by brothers Milton Milinovich, Michael, George, Nick and Roddy Vukovich and sisters Dorothy Mediate and Katie Parris.
She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed looking after her family and cooking and baking for them. Special times for her were her birthday parties and being able to celebrate with her family and many friends.
Surviving are her four children and their spouses, Melinda and James Williams of Dilliner, Michael and Dorothy Shuppe of Mentor, Ohio, Fred “Ted” and Lori Shuppe of Dilliner and Steven and Susan Shuppe of Akron, Ohio; 15 grandchildren, including Stuart Smith, who was her caregiver for the past few years; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She also leaves behind two special friends who helped with her care at home, Brenda Stone and Dorah Smithley.
Her husband of 63 years, George Shuppe Jr., died on August 28, 2002.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and until 1 p.m., the hour of service, Wednesday, May 15, in Richard R. Herod Funeral Home, Point Marion, with the Rev. William L.
