Mary Elizabeth Gullick Beall, 74, of Emmett, Idaho, formerly of York, Maine, passed away suddenly Saturday, May 11, 2013, in the home of her sister, Peggy Sue Gullick Richards, in Jackson, Ga., due to heart complications.

Known as “Libby” to family and friends, she will be greatly missed by all. Her family loved her very much and mourns her passing.

She lived with her sister, Cecelia Hunter, and brother-in-law, Thomas B. Hunter Jr., in Emmett for three years. She’d lived in Florida and then moved to New England in the late 1960s, living in York for more than 40 years.

Ms. Beall was the second of seven children. She was a daughter of the late Paul R. Gullick Sr. and Mary Helen Robbins Gullick.

She was a graduate of East Washington High School (1957) and retired in 2001 from Henschel Corp., where she was a fire system technician on U.S. naval ships.

Ms. Beall was known to all as an animal lover and an avid ASPCA supporter. Her dearest beagle dog, Buddy, passed away late last year. She missed him greatly. She also enjoyed reading, creating ceramic dolls and gardening.

After moving to Emmett, Barbara Olsen and Ms. Beall enjoyed visits with her brother, William Richard Gullick and wife Dicsie Gullick of Star, Idaho. She traveled to California several times, visiting with her nephew, Thomas III and his daughter Zoe of San Juan Capistrano, Calif., as well as her niece, Rachel Hunter and her son Tristan of Melbourne, Australia. In January 2013, Ms. Beall moved to Jackson to live with her sister, Sue Gullick Richards, and be near her family. Sue’s children are John Nicolella Jr. of Hampton, Ga., Kathy Nicolella Holder of Jackson, Caroline Nicolella Miller of Williamson, Ga., and Helen Sue Nicolella Chandler of Alabama. Also surviving are her sisters, Peggy Sue Richards of Jackson and Cecelia A. (Tom) Hunter of Emmett and brothers William Richard (Dicsie) Gullick of Star and Paul R. (Linda) Gullick Jr. of Warner Robbins, Ga.; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In addition to her parents, deceased are brothers Dewey Ray Gullick Sr. of Washington and Danny Thomas Gullick of Ohio.

Ms. Beall left a trail of tears in the hearts of her family and friends and footprints in their lives, and she is in a better place now. Her remains are being sent back to Emmett, where she will be buried next to her dear friend and partner of 30 years, Barbara Olsen. A family-only memorial will be held at the grave site.
