Mary Elizabeth Gullick Beall, 74, of Emmett, Idaho, formerly of York, Maine, passed away suddenly Saturday, May 11, 2013, in the home of her sister, Peggy Sue Gullick Richards, in Jackson, Ga., due to heart complications.
Known as “Libby” to family and friends, she will be greatly missed by all. Her family loved her very much and mourns her passing.
She lived with her sister, Cecelia Hunter, and brother-in-law, Thomas B. Hunter Jr., in Emmett for three years. She’d lived in Florida and then moved to New England in the late 1960s, living in York for more than 40 years.
Ms. Beall was the second of seven children. She was a daughter of the late Paul R. Gullick Sr. and Mary Helen Robbins Gullick.
She was a graduate of East Washington High School (1957) and retired in 2001 from Henschel Corp., where she was a fire system technician on U.S. naval ships.
Ms. Beall was known to all as an animal lover and an avid ASPCA supporter. Her dearest beagle dog, Buddy, passed away late last year. She missed him greatly. She also enjoyed reading, creating ceramic dolls and gardening.
After moving to Emmett, Barbara Olsen and Ms. Beall enjoyed visits with her brother, William Richard Gullick and wife Dicsie Gullick of Star, Idaho. She traveled to California several times, visiting with her nephew, Thomas III and his daughter Zoe of San Juan Capistrano, Calif., as well as her niece, Rachel Hunter and her son Tristan of Melbourne, Australia. In January 2013, Ms. Beall moved to Jackson to live with her sister, Sue Gullick Richards, and be near her family. Sue’s children are John Nicolella Jr. of Hampton, Ga., Kathy Nicolella Holder of Jackson, Caroline Nicolella Miller of Williamson, Ga., and Helen Sue Nicolella Chandler of Alabama. Also surviving are her sisters, Peggy Sue Richards of Jackson and Cecelia A. (Tom) Hunter of Emmett and brothers William Richard (Dicsie) Gullick of Star and Paul R. (Linda) Gullick Jr. of Warner Robbins, Ga.; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to her parents, deceased are brothers Dewey Ray Gullick Sr. of Washington and Danny Thomas Gullick of Ohio.
Ms. Beall left a trail of tears in the hearts of her family and friends and footprints in their lives, and she is in a better place now. Her remains are being sent back to Emmett, where she will be buried next to her dear friend and partner of 30 years, Barbara Olsen. A family-only memorial will be held at the grave site.
Paul Conway Briggs, 77, a longtime resident of South Franklin Township, died Friday, May 17, 2013, in Presbyterian SeniorCare, Washington.
He was born July 15, 1935, in Lone Pine, a son of the late Lester and Opal Kelley Briggs.
Mr. Briggs attended Chestnut Ridge, Somerset and McClay elementary schools and Trinity High School.
He was a 30-year employee of National Annealing Box Co., retiring in 1981. Following retirement, he operated his own excavation business for 15 years.
Mr. Briggs loved music and, at an early age, taught himself to play the guitar. He played in several bands in the eastern United States, frequently in Wheeling, W.Va., and many local places.
He enjoyed restoring and showing many antique automobiles.
Mr. Briggs was a member of the Steam Engine Association and Loyal Order of Moose, Washington.
On June 18, 1955, he married Emily Johnson, who died January 7, 2004.
Surviving are two sons, Eric and Darryl Briggs, both of Washington; a foster daughter, Vicki Brooks of Crystal River, Fla.; four grandsons, Justin and Tyler Briggs of Taylorstown and Michael and Brad Hudak of Crystal River; a granddaughter, Erica Briggs; three great-grandchildren, Lové, Kwondré and Rakiyah Porter; and three sisters, Bernice Condit, Virginia Patten and Norma Bayne, all of Washington.
Deceased are a brother, Kenneth Lloyd Briggs, and a sister, Elda Graham.

Willa A. Cree, 76, of Waynesburg, died at 3:45 p.m. Friday, May 17, 2013, in Washington County Health Center, Chartiers Township.
She was born March 22, 1937, in Spraggs, a daughter of the late Melvin and Kathryn Rush Dodge.
Mrs. Cree was a 1956 graduate of Waynesburg High School and worked 33 years for Alltel Corp., first as a telephone operator, then in the engineering department and retiring as the warehouse manager.
On December 29, 1962, she married Stanley E. Cree, who survives.

Joyce L. Cullen, 75, of Houston, died Friday May 17, 2013, in Canonsburg General Hospital.
She was born July 27, 1937, in Washington, a daughter of Frank and Helen McNary Galbraith.
Mrs. Cullen worked in the housekeeping department for McMurray Hills Manor.
She was a 50-year member of First United Presbyterian Church in Houston.
Mrs. Cullen was an avid Steelers fan and enjoyed reading and cooking.
On March 16, 1957, she married James Lloyd Cullen, who died May 17, 2011.
Surviving are a daughter, Juanita Myers and husband Wayne of Houston, and two grandchildren, Dr. Wayne P. Myers (Ashley) of Harrisburg and Bridgette Myers (Brady Yevins) of Houston.
Deceased, in addition to her husband and parents, are a son, James Cullen; a sister, Phyllis Karageorge; and a brother, Ed Galbraith.

Anna Florence Davis, 83, of Washington, died Friday, May 17, 2013, in Donnell House, Washington.
She was born September 6, 1929, in Manifold, a daughter of Walter Lee Lloyd and Louizah Leolin Roach Lloyd.
Mrs. Davis was a graduate of Trinity High School and worked at RCA and Grant’s Department Store.
She enjoyed being with her family and grandchildren, her dog, Buddy, and going to garage sales.
Mrs. Davis had been a member of Washington Alliance Church.
On October 31, 1948, she married Samuel A. Davis, who died January 23, 2002.
Surviving are a daughter, Sandra Gayle Emerick; nine grandchildren, April Smith, Deana Schmitt, James Davis, Samantha Dorham, Samuel Davis, Sandra Davis, Victoria Davis, Gary Neal and Melissa Minerd; eight great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Debra Marie Davis; a sister-in-law, Theadora Lloyd; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her parents and husband, are a son, Samuel A. Davis, who died March 24, 2013; a great-grandchild, Sahara Smith; and four brothers, William, Walter Franklin “Pinky,” John and Robert Elvers Lloyd.

V. Bruce Dunlap died Thursday, May 16, 2013.
He was the beloved husband of Pamela Hall Dunlap; devoted father of Steven Dunlap and wife Sandy, Kimberly Silverwood and husband Ross and the late Brian Dunlap; and adoring grandfather “DadDad” of Kelsey and Jacob Dunlap and Kristen Silverwood. Also surviving are two nieces and a nephew.

Leslie F. Emerson, 86, of McMurray, died Saturday, May 18, 2013, in Canonsburg General Hospital.

Rose Marie Bologna Friday, 71, of Hickory, died at 5:03 p.m. Friday, May 17, 2013, in UPMC-Shadyside hospital, Pittsburgh.
She was born August 24, 1941, in Avella, a daughter of the late Gesido and Assunta Tulle Bologna.
Ms. Friday attended Burgettstown High School and was employed as a manager for 20 years at Settlers Place Apartments in Hanky Farms, retiring in 2007.
She had lived in Hickory since 1974.
Ms. Friday was a member of St. Michael Roman Catholic Church of Avella.
She was a true animal lover and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Surviving are a daughter, Susan (Bobby) Morrow of New Port Richey, Fla.; three sons, Robert J. Friday of Hickory, Michael Friday (and fiancée Pam) of Hickory and Joseph (Larissa) Friday of Bethel Park; four grandchildren, Nicholas, Alexa, Kayla and Adam; and four brothers, Vincent (Evelyn) Bologna of Follansbee, W.Va., Louis (Linda) Bologna of Akron, Ohio, Raymond (Christina) Bologna of Moon Township and Anthony (Mary) Bologna of McMurray.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, is a brother, Joseph Bologna.

Frederick G. Hoover, 91, of Baldwin Township, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2013.
He was the beloved husband of the late Gladys Hoover; loving father of Diane K. (Dennis) Bailey; son of the late Howard and Blanche Hoover; brother of Jack, Lois MacDonald, the late Howard, Blanche Lessa and Alice Kaylor; and companion to Selina Peterson.
Mr. Hoover was a past member and usher of St. Pius X Church.
He was a World War II U.S. Army Air Corps veteran.

Carol Ann Reynolds Jones, 60, of Cameron, W.Va., passed away Friday, May 17, 2013, at Liza’s Place.
She was born October 19, 1952, in Greene County, a daughter of Floyd and Eileen Ruble Reynolds.
Mrs. Jones was Protestant.
She was preceded in death by her mother.Surviving are her husband, Wayne Jones; father Floyd Reynolds of Moundsville, W.Va.; a daughter, Shawnee (Rodney) Black, and grandchildren Amber and Nathan Black, all of Holbrook; and a brother, Mark “Moke” Reynolds of Cameron.

Raymond A. Kifer, 88, of Washington, formerly of Canonsburg and Eighty Four, died at 10:50 a.m. Thursday May 16, 2013, in his home with his family at his side.
He was born September 23, 1924, in Canonsburg, the son of Raymond W. and Ora Marie Champ Kifer.
Mr. Kifer was a member of Shiloh Bible Fellowship.
He was employed at Pennsylvania Transformer in Canonsburg and McGraw-Edison, which later became Cooper Industries, as a mechanical assembler for 39 years and nine months until his retirement.
He liked to bowl, ride motorcycles and work on fixing anything. Mr. Kifer loved helping others and was always there to lend a hand. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 191 in Canonsburg and served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Philippines and Japan.
On May 14, 1971, he married Mary Brincko, who survives.
Also surviving are two stepsons, Charles M. (Peggy) White of Claysville and David L. White of Washington; a stepdaughter; Evelyn W. Gostic of Strabane; a brother, Richard Evan Kifer of Arvada, Colo.; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Kifer was preceded in death by four brothers, Paul, Harold, Curtis and Robert Kifer, and two sisters, Ruth Riggle and Jean Mildred Stevens.

George R. Mey, 81, of Eighty Four, died Saturday, May 18, 2013.
He was father of Denise, George Jr. and Lorie; brother of Donald Mey (Mary Ellen) and the late Dorothy Crowley, Joan Stanko, Mary, Bob and Billy Mey. Several grandchildren also survive.

Bernard J. “Barney” O’Bryan, 86, of Salem, N.H., died April 26, 2013, in Pleasant Valley Nursing Home, Derry, N.H.
He was born in Carnegie and grew up and was educated in Washington.
Formerly of Canonsburg, for the past seven months, he was a resident of Salem.
Mr. O’Bryan was a self-employed plasterer.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during World War II.
Mr. O’Bryan was a son of the late Frank and Leatha Pearl Jester O’Bryan. Also deceased is a son, Bernard J. O’Bryan Sr.
Surviving are his grandchildren, Autumn O’Bryan of Salem and B.J. O’Bryan of Pittsburgh; great-grandchildren Mason, Malori, Ivy and Dalton; sisters Jeanie Hoover and Cora O’Bryan; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and inurnment with military honors will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Road, Cecil Township.

Ignatius “Iggy” Yonis, 84, of Cedar Grove, died at 10:26 a.m. Saturday, May 18, 2013, in his home.
He was born on February 1, 1929, in Avella, son of the late Dominic and Amelia Norowska Yonis.
Mr. Yonis was a 1947 graduate of Avella High School and was a lance corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean War; he was a Purple Heart recipient.
He was employed by Weirton Steel Corp. as a steel pourer for 30 years, retiring in 1979. He also worked on his beef cattle farm until the time of his death.
Mr. Yonis was Catholic.
He was the last of his immediate family. Mr. Yonis is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were three sisters, Josephine, Mary and Dorothy Bracken, and six brothers, Matthew and Steve Petka, and Joseph, Michael, Stanley and Walter Yonis.
