Doris Louise Baxter Buell
Doris Louise Baxter Buell, 83, of Monongahela, died Wednesday, May 22, 2013.
She was born July 18, 1929, in Hazelkirk, the thirteenth child to Thomas and Jennie Bautz Baxter.
Mrs. Buell graduated from Monongahela High School in 1947. She was also a graduate of Franco Beauty Academy and maintained a successful beauty shop for many years.
She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star and Grand Army of the Republic.
Mrs. Buell was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Monongahela.
She was an amateur artist and loved entertaining, loved her family and most of all loved being Lee Buell’s wife.
Left to cherish her memory are three daughters, Cynthia (Arthur) Hall of Pottstown, Marsha (Ralph) Wingrove of Indiana and Donna (Daniel) Turney of Shelocta; eight grandchildren, Jason and Nathan Hall, Amy Stone, Leslie Yount, Natalie Scott, Ryan Wingrove, Lee Anne Barrett and Jakob Turney; nine great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Rose Gust and Catherine Liparulo, both of Monongahela.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Lee Buell, who died December 19, 2010; four brothers, Albert, Tom, James and Paul Baxter; and six sisters, Eugenia Baxter, Elizabeth Henderson, Colleen Tosi, Ella Mae Good, Martha Frye and Bertha Bozovich.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in Frye Funeral Home Inc., 427 West Main Street, Monongahela, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 25, with the Rev. Mark Schollaert officiating. Interment will follow in Mt Zion Cemetery, Monongahela. Memorial contribtuions may be made to First Baptist Church, 601 West Main Street, Monongahela, PA 15063.
