Edward Alfred Heiney, 64, of North Carolina, passed away Friday, May 24, 2013, in his home.
He was born May 8, 1949, in Washington County, a son of George Edward and Helen Bright Heiney.
Mr. Heiney served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and was a member of American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
On September 15, 1973, he married Sharon Reed, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, April Heiney of Charlotte and Valerie Heiney at home; a son, Michael Heiney and wife Shannon of Thomasville, N.C.; a sister, Sherry Coleman of Panama City, Fla.; and two granddaughters, Savannah Heiney and Gracie Heiney.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in J.C. Green and Sons Inc., Thomasville, where services will be held in the chapel at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 29, with the Rev. Donald Anders, the Rev. William O’Neal and the Rev. Hulon Pait officiating. Interment will follow at 1 p.m. in National Cemetery in Salisbury, N.C. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292, or to the donor’s choice.
