U.S. Marine Corp veteran loved sports
James E. Kittle, 79, passed away at 10:30 p.m. Thursday, May 23, 2013, in Cleveland Clinic. After a terrible ordeal for two-and-a-half months, God called him home to end his suffering.
He was born April 15, 1934, in Vestaburg, the son of James R. and Sadie Kittle.
Mr. Kittle went to Ohio to work at GM Assembly plant as a material handler for 30 years and was a member of Local 1112, Warren, Ohio, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1090 and a life member of American Legion Post 391 in Fredericktown. He was an avid ball player and loved sports. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps for three years.
He is survived by his wife, Rita M. Kittle, whom he married June 28, 1958 – they would have celebrated 55 years of marriage this June; son James Kittle of Warren; grandson James Riley Kittle; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and four sisters.
Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and 9 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday in Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel, Warren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 30, in Blessed John Paul II Parish (St. Joseph Church), Warren, with the Rev. James P. Walker officiating.
Burial will be in Meadow Brook Memorial Park, Warren, with full military honors.
