Jack-of-all-trades enjoyed Pittsburgh sports
Victor J. “Buddy” Brova, 56, of Washington, formerly of Scenery Hill, died Sunday, May 26, 2013.
He was born January 4, 1957, in Washington, a son of Victor V. and Joyce Bedro Brova of Scenery Hill.
An outstanding athlete, Mr. Brova was a 1974 graduate of Bentworth High School and received an associate’s degree in mining technology from the Penn State Fayette campus. His athletic abilities resulted numerous scholarship offers for football and baseball. He attended Massanutten Military Academy on a football scholarship.
For 31 years, he worked as an underground coal miner for Bethlehem Mines Mine 60 and later Consolidation Coal Co. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America Local 1197, where he served on both the grievance and safety committees.
For his athletic abilities, he received numerous awards and accolades as well as being named to several all-star teams for both baseball and football. His love of sports continued throughout his life. He served as a Bentworth Girls Basketball Community League coach and was previously on the board of directors of the Bentworth Community Athletic Club.
He was a member of Washington County Wine Makers Association and Sons of Italy, Cokeburg.
A jack-of-all-trades, he built and renovated several homes and was always busy helping anyone who asked. For the past three years, he and his father restored a red 1978 Dodge Express pickup truck.
He also enjoyed the Pittsburgh Steelers, Penguins and Pirates and was an avid Penn State fan. He enjoyed taking numerous trips with his family.
On November 5, 1977, he married Belinda Wiggins, who survives. She was the love of his life and he said that to her every day. They celebrated 35 years of marriage.
Surviving, in addition to his parents and wife, are two daughters, Natalie Brova and fiancé Jim Wilson of Washington and Gabriela Brova and fiancé Charles Selvoski of Eighty Four; two sisters, Jaquelin Brova of Bethlehem and Rebecca Crumrine (Clark) of Wheeling, W.Va.; and two nephews, Matthew and Vinny Crumrine, both of New York City.
Friends will be received from 2 to 7 p.m., the hour of services, Wednesday, May 29, in John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, 2830 Main Street, Beallsville, with the Rev. Stuart D. Broberg, pastor of the Church of the Covenant, Washington, officiating. Interment will be private. Sara B. Cale, 94, of McMurray, formerly of Bentleyville, died Monday, May 27, 2013, in McMurray Hills Manor.
She was born May 3, 1919, in Crossroads, Washington County, a daughter of the late H. Wiley and Mary Baker McClenathan.
Mrs. Cale was a graduate of Trinity High School.
She went on to become a tax collector for Somerset Township, filling the position following her husband’s death. She was subsequently re-elected.
Mrs. Cale was a member of Memory Community Chapel in Eighty Four, where she served on the board of directors for many years.
She enjoyed flowers and loved her garden.
On March 26, 1940, she married the Rev. Arleigh Cale, who died December 3, 1981.
Surviving are a son, John (Nancy) Cale of Scott Depot, W.Va.; two daughters, Evelyn Joyce (George “Skip”) Wiggins of Houston and Rebecca Morgan of Bentleyville; two brothers, Frank H. (June) McClenathan of Prosperity and Fred C. (Jo Ann) McClenathan of Washington; two sisters, Margaret Townsend and Mary Louise “Dot” Wall, both of Washington; seven grandchildren, John Cale Jr., Steven Cale, Eric Cale, G. Clarke Wiggins, Jill Wiggins, Shanna Ross and Alyssa McLaughlin; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two brothers, William and James McClenathan; and two sisters, Ellen Wilson and Jean Day.

Langeloth resident
Tracy Lynn Domick, 38, of Langeloth, died unexpectedly Saturday, May 25, 2013, in her home.
She was born March 8, 1975, in Washington, a daughter of Clyde and Judy Seals Watton of Langeloth.
Ms. Domick attended Burgettstown High School and received her general educational development diploma. She was a homemaker and a mom.
Surviving, in addition to her parents, are four children, Kordell Walden, Nicholas Domick, Paige Domick and Shimeir Walden; sister Toni (Patrick) Miller of Washington; nephews Christopher and Corey Dorsey; boyfriend Raymond Henderson; two special friends, Sheila Humphries and Gina Bothell; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will miss her.
Deceased are a daughter, Serenity Nevaeh Domick, and a brother, William Charles “Poo” Domick.

John T. Duke, 65, of Canonsburg, passed away Monday, May 27, 2013, in his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Self-employed painter enjoyed hunting
Raymond J. Hutton, 74, of Finleyville, died Monday, May 27, 2013, in The Greenery Specialty Care Center, Canonsburg.
He was born June 25, 1938, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Raymond and Josephine Hutton.
A self-employed painter, Mr. Hutton also worked for many years at the former Mayview State Hospital as a painter.
He served as a ranger in the U.S. Army, and he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Surviving are two sons, Joseph R. (Michelle) Hutton of South Fayette and Raymond A. Hutton of Finleyville; three daughters, Lisa C. Hutton and Tina Anderson of Finleyville and Betty Jo Hutton (Tom McWilliams) of Eighty Four; a brother, Robert Hutton of Library; and two sisters, Carol Hohowski and Karen Hayes of McMurray; 11 grandchildren, Michael and Mark Anderson, Tabatha and Courtney Yeager, Jessie Keefer, Staff Sgt. Josh (Veronica) Keefer, Lorie, Jeremy, Joelle and Hannah Hutton and Lauren Davoli; and a great-granddaughter, Kailey Mateo.
Deceased is a brother, William Hutton.

U.S. Army veteran
Terry Scott Morgan, 65, of Fredericktown, died Sunday, May 26, 2013, in UPMC-Montefiore hospital, Pittsburgh.
Mr. Morgan was born February 17, 1948, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late William T. and Jean Scott Morgan.
He served his country in the U.S. Army in the Vietnam War.
Mr. Morgan worked as a mine office manager at Consol’s Dilworth Mine until he became ill.
On August 20, 1971, he married Alice Jean Haas, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Lara Keene and husband Sean of Carmichaels and Melanie Morgan and husband Craig McClellan of Woodbridge, Va.

WWII veteran enjoyed hunting, fishing
Denzil Roy Nicholson, 85, of Mt. Morris, died at 9:28 p.m. Saturday, May 25, 2013, in Monongalia General Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.
He was born Saturday, September 3, 1927, in Morgantown, a son of the late Christopher and Daisy Blosser Nicholson.
Mr. Nicholson was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was considered to be a great muskie fisherman. He loved his garden and had prize-winning watermelons and pumpkins. He loved spending time with his dog, Keeper.
Mr. Nicholson was a self-employed carpenter, retiring in 1991.
He will be sadly missed by his family and his dog.
His wife, Wanda Helmick Nicholson, whom he married June 24, 1949, survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Judith Kennedy of Arthurdale, W.Va., and Michele Nicholson of Mt. Morris; five sons, Rick and Larry Nicholson, both of Morgantown, Jeff Nicholson of Westover, W.Va., Bradley Nicholson of Mt. Morris and Greg Nicholson of Star City, W.Va.; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister Eleanor Bailey of Columbus, Ohio; brother Damon Nicholson of Morgantown; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased is a sister, Elsie Hoffer.

Devoted wife and mother adored her grandchildren
Mary A. Fragapane Sendro, 82, of Washington, died Monday, May 27, 2013, in Washington.
She was born March 9, 1931, in Canonsburg, a daughter of Vincent and Teresa Fragapane.
Mrs. Sendro was a graduate of Canonsburg High School, Class of 1949.
She was a member of St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church, where she was an active member of its Christian Mothers and St. Hilary Prayer Group.
Mrs. Sendro enjoyed crocheting, knitting, cooking and baking. She also enjoyed the company of many friends throughout her life.
She was a devoted wife to her husband and mother to her children. She adored her grandchildren and eagerly anticipated their visits.
For many years, she was employed by Trinity Area School District as a cafeteria server.
On June 11, 1955, in St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Canonsburg, she married Paul J. Sendro, who died January 4, 2007.
Surviving are a daughter, Terri Sendro Samila (Dale Hartley) of Washington; two sons, Paul J. (Dana) Sendro of Flemington, N.J., and Daniel V. (Lori) Sendro of Greensburg; sister Virginia Levers of Holly, Mich.; two brothers, Sam (Rosalie) Fragapane of Canonsburg and Carmen (Carol) Fragapane of Williamsburg, Va.; four grandchildren, Elaina Rae, Ryan Daniel, Paul J. and Alexa H. Sendro; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Sendro received compassionate and caring support during her brief stay at Strabane Woods Assisted Living Center, South Strabane Township.

Robert Smith Sr., 83, of Eighty Four, formerly of Charleroi, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2013, in his home, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born January 23, 1930, in Monessen, a son of the late William Sr. and Jessie Gardner Smith.
Mr. Smith was a former contractor and owner of Romar Construction Co., a member and president of the Highland-Erie Committee and a former mason. He was also the chairman and a founding brother of the Smith-Madison Family Reunion.
He enjoyed reading, watching Westerns on television, bowling and tennis.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Marie Smith of Eighty Four; eight children, Shirley (late Frank) Robinson of Atlanta, Ga., Marie (Edward) Hickman of Detroit, Mich., Robin (Amadou) Dione of Las Vegas, Nev., Robert Smith Jr. of Meadow Lands, Mark Smith of Washington, Stacy (Jason) Hollis of Verona, Lisa (Timothy) Watts of South Strabane and Rae Neil Smith of Nottingham Township; 11 grandchildren, Frank, Jason, Jamie, Jennifer, Robert, Cheresse, Latoya, Randis, Jared, Jacob and TiLisa; several great-grandchildren; sister Vivian Rodgers of Manhattan, N.Y.; stepbrothers Charles, Norman, Earl and Robert Madison; stepsisters Barbara Edwards and Roberta Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, deceased are four brothers, a stepfather, two stepbrothers and two stepsisters.
