Sara B. Cale, 94, of McMurray, formerly of Bentleyville, died Monday, May 27, 2013, in McMurray Hills Manor.

She was born May 3, 1919, in Crossroads, Washington County, a daughter of the late H. Wiley and Mary Baker McClenathan.

Mrs. Cale was a graduate of Trinity High School.

She went on to become a tax collector for Somerset Township, filling the position following her husband’s death. She was subsequently re-elected.

Mrs. Cale was a member of Memory Community Chapel in Eighty Four, where she served on the board of directors for many years.

She enjoyed flowers and loved her garden.

On March 26, 1940, she married the Rev. Arleigh Cale, who died December 3, 1981.

Surviving are a son, John (Nancy) Cale of Scott Depot, W.Va.; two daughters, Evelyn Joyce (George “Skip”) Wiggins of Houston and Rebecca Morgan of Bentleyville; two brothers, Frank H. (June) McClenathan of Prosperity and Fred C. (Jo Ann) McClenathan of Washington; two sisters, Margaret Townsend and Mary Louise “Dot” Wall, both of Washington; seven grandchildren, John Cale Jr., Steven Cale, Eric Cale, G. Clarke Wiggins, Jill Wiggins, Shanna Ross and Alyssa McLaughlin; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Deceased are two brothers, William and James McClenathan; and two sisters, Ellen Wilson and Jean Day.

Friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Piatt and Barnhill Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 30, with Pastor Todd Stemple and John Cale Jr. officiating.
