Richard Torboli, 78, of Avella, died at 3:01 a.m. Friday, November 1, 2013, in his home.
He was born January 30, 1935, in Sligo, a son of the late Pascuino and Frances Coachman Torboli.
Mr. Torboli worked in the construction industry for 40 years as an operating engineer and a heavy-equipment mechanic. He was employed by Murphy Construction and Mike Swartz Construction, retiring in 1997.
He was a member of St. Michael Roman Catholic Church of Avella and Operating Engineers Local 132 of Wheeling.
Mr. Torboli was an Avella resident since 1951.
He enjoyed his motorcycle, old cars, trips through the United States and Canada and spending time with family.
On August 23, 1953, he married Margaret Kolesar, who survives. The couple also had a marriage ceremony April 27, 2012, in St. Michael Church.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons, Rick (Kathy) Torboli of Avella and Randy (Sandy) Torboli of West Lake, Ohio; a daughter, Laura (Chris) Faria of Avon Lake, Ohio; six grandchildren, Nathan, Melissa, Kelsey, Haley, Bobby and Kaity; and three great-grandchildren, Brayden, Maxim and Giuliana.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, are four brothers, Arthur Torboli Sr., James Torboli, Robert Torboli and Frank Tober; and five sisters, Rose Minda, Mary Ann Noble, Elizabeth Sabo and Frances and Delores Torboli.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Jerome A. Stefkovich Funeral Home Inc., 18 Campbell Street, Avella. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, November 4, in St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, 97 Highland Avenue, Avella, with the Rev. Robert M. Staszewski officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
