Retired Beth-Center teacher

Josephine A. Retucci Bane, 93, of Millsboro, died Friday, November 8, 2013, in Southwest Regional Medical Center.

She was born February 6, 1920, in Chattaroy, W.Va., a daughter of the late Michael and Angelina Belligheri Retucci.

Mrs. Bane lived most of her life in the Fredericktown and Millsboro area. She was a graduate of East Bethlehem High School and received her teaching degree from California State Teachers College.

She taught elementary education for many years in the Bethlehem-Center School District, from where she retired in 1986.

On July 28, 1951, in St. Michael Church in Fredericktown, she married William J. Bane, who died December 15, 1996.

Mrs. Bane was a member of St. Oliver Plunkett Catholic Church and Public School Employees’ Retirement System.

She derived great pleasure from cooking, gardening and canning.

Surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Bane was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Deceased, in addition to her parents and husband, are two brothers, Andrew Retucci, Joseph Retucci Sr.; and a sister, Mary Rinelli.

Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Frank Burkus Funeral Home, 26 Mill Street, Millsboro, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, November 11. Entombment will follow in Greene County Memorial Park, Morgan Township.

Played softball, was avid Steelers fan

Scott Louis Kestner, 52, of Washington, died Friday, November 8, 2013, in Washington Hospital.

He was born August 19, 1961, in Washington, a son of Darla Debbis Doak and the late Robert Kent Kestner.

Mr. Kestner was a graduate of McGuffey High School.

He operated heavy equipment in North Carolina and Virginia for 20 years. He also was a delivery driver for The Medicine Shoppe.

Mr. Kestner played softball for and was a member of the Polish Club.

He was an avid Steelers fan.

Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his companion, Sheryl “Punkin” Roupe; two sons, Adam (Anna) Kestner of Washington and Mark Crompton of Washington; four daughters, Jennifer (Danny) Carson of Connelly Spring, N.C., Kristy Kestner of Connelly Spring, N.C., Katie Kestner of Hickory, N.C., and Dawn Zambelli of Washington; a brother, R. Todd (Vicki) Kestner of Carencrow, La.; two half sisters, Jill Bloor of Camp Hill and Robin Kerrick of Enola; stepmother Naomi Kestner of Camp Hill; maternal grandmother Clare Debbis of Washington; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, November 10, at the Polish Club, 64 Griffith Avenue, Washington. Arrangements are being handled by William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd. 925 Allison Avenue, Washington.

Beloved husband, loving father

Charles Louis Schucht Sr., 87, of Scott Township, died Thursday, November 7, 2013.

He was the beloved husband of Alma Pfister Schucht for 57 years; loving father of Beverly (Chuck) Schons, Chuck (Sally) Schucht, Donna (Ray) Keating and the late Joyce (Tom) Phalin; son of the late Harry and Bessie Schucht; brother of Joan Boynes and Violet Lutz; proud grandfather of Jen (Greg) Counselman, Tim and the late Tom Phalin, Kim (Josh) Yatsko, Chuckie, Paul and Matt Schons, Steve and Brad Schucht and Samantha and Nicole Keating; and great-grandfather of Mark Yonkers and Jordan Counselman.

Deceased are three sisters and four brothers.

Mr. Schucht served proudly with the U.S. Army Air Force as a corporal in the 394th Bomb Group during World War II.

He worked for Universal Cyclops in Bridgeville as an inspector.

Family and friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Warchol Funeral Home Inc., 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville, 412-221-3333, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, November, 11. Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery, Bridgeville.
