Virginia L. “Ginny” Kovatch Leichliter, 74, of Centerville Borough, formerly of Clarksville, passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 12, 2013, in Golden Living Center, Canonsburg.
She was born February 14, 1939, in Brownsville, a daughter of the late John and Wilma Alexander Kovatch.
Mrs. Leichliter was a 1957 graduate of Perryopolis High School. Through the years, she was employed as a clerk in a drug store, a hauling company and a small local grocery store. She was a volunteer at Fredericktown Public Library.
She enjoyed collecting lighthouses and souvenir spoons, both of which she has an extensive collection.
Mrs. Leichliter will be remembered as a kind-hearted and caring person who enjoyed many things in life and loved all of her family.
Surviving are four children, Cindy Stenson of Washington, D.C., Franklin Eugene Cowger of Graniteville, S.C., William Cowger (Carla) of Centerville and Randy Cowger of Carmichaels; seven grandchildren, Cecilia, William Jr., Tyler Lee, Randi Lynn, Hanna and Brianna Cowger and Bradley Patterson; a sister, Maryann Harper (Dewey) of Nashville, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, are her husband, Tom A. Leichliter, and infant granddaughter, Bethany Jo Cowger.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Greenlee Funeral Home, 619 Main Street, Bentleyville, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 16, with the Rev. Doug Quail officiating. Interment will be in Taylor Cemetery, Brownsville.
