Mary Lou Piazza, 84, of Southview, died Tuesday, November 19, 2013, in St. Clair Hospital.
She was born July 14, 1929, in Ravenna, Ohio, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Palmisano Bruzzese.
She was a member of St. Mary Parish and choir, in a group called Sister Act and played the Mother Superior, Mt. Pleasant Volunteer Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary and the former Cecil Grange. She enjoyed playing cards, dancing, cooking and baking. Everything she made was good, but she was known for her pumpkin rolls. She was always active in her church and the community.
She worked as a cafeteria worker in Fort Cherry High School for 25 years.
Surviving are her husband, Joseph L. Piazza Jr. of Southview, a son, Dominick ‘Mick’ (Juliana) Piazza of Southview; two daughters, Theresa Piazza of Heidelberg and Victoria Piazza of Pittsburgh, two grandchildren, Christina (Ryan) Robertson of Crafton and Talia Piazza of Pittsburgh, two sisters, Genevieve Cardamone of Carnegie and Theresa Mull of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and a brother, Dominic Bruzzese of Gainesville, Fla.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, is a sister, Virginia Talota.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday in Coleman-Taylor Funeral Services, 3378 Millers Run Road, Route 50, Cecil, where prayers of transfer will be said at 9:30 a.m. Friday, November 22, followed by a Christian Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, Cecil, with Father Stan Gregorek officiating.
Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
