Former Canonsburg resident
Albert John “Big Al” Cisson, 70, died peacefully Sunday, November 10, 2013, in his Ormond Beach, Fla., home surrounded by his family and friends.
He was born May 26, 1943, in Canonsburg. He moved to Ormond Beach with his brother and family in 1972, and purchased a motel on A1A. He later carried on his father’s legacy and opened Cisson’s Auto in 1984, where he worked until he retired in 2004.
Mr. Cisson had a passion for cars and motorcycles that began in his childhood, working at his father’s shop. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, painting, music and, most of all, spending time with his family and friends.
Surviving are his childhood sweetheart, Beverly “Billie” Cisson; his children, Denise Cisson, Albert Cisson (Deanna) and Darcy Siegel (Aaron); his grandchildren, Kirstin, Colin and Lauren; a brother, Richard Cisson; and a sister, Elayne Versage.
He also leaves behind his dog, Harley.
A celebration of Mr. Cisson’s life will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, November 23, on the beach at 2026 Ocean Shore Boulevard, Ormond-By-The-Sea, Fla.

Brownsville resident
Mary Ann Cope, 66, of Brownsville, Centerville Borough, died Wednesday, November 20, 2013, in Donnell House, Washington.
She was born August 15, 1947, in Homestead, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Vincent Balukas.
On April 11, 1994, she married Harry Cope Jr. of Brownsville, who survives.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are two sons, Brian Wiercioch of Jeanette and Eddie D. Wiercioch (Bobbie) of Muse; daughter Jeannette Lester of Charleroi; three stepdaughters, Jennifer Klun (Kevin) of Washington, Danielle Croushore (Dave) of North Hills and Amanda Cope (John Marasti) of North Hills; stepson Harry Cope III (Kim) of Bentleyville; eight grandchildren, Cody, Nicole, Caitlyn, Amanda, Gracie, Shannon, Matthew and Nicholas; four siblings, Eugene, Vincent, Angela and Arthur; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at noon Saturday, November 23, in Assembly of God Church, 100 Meadow Drive, Bentleyville, with Pastor Paul Peternel officiating. Interment is private. Dolores A. “Dee” DePaolo, 56, of North Strabane, passed away with her family by her side Wednesday, November 20, 2013.
Born May 22, 1957, in Pittsburgh, she is a daughter of the late Anthony Leo and Elizabeth Theresa Evans DePaolo.
She was the beloved sister of Marie Sam, Anthony (Dawn) DePaolo and Theresa DePaolo. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
Ms. DePaolo loved playing bingo and crocheting. She also enjoyed spending time with her cherished nieces and nephews.

Devoted to family and education
Orlando M. Jardini, 85, died peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, Thursday, November 21, 2013.
A son of the late Paschaol (Patsy) Jardini and Michelina Mancini Jardini of Carrick, he was born October 11, 1928, in Pittsburgh, and spent most of his life in Brentwood. Mr. Jardini moved to Meadow Lands three years ago.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 51 years, Linda Price Jardini; three children, David (Dawn Shober) of Meadow Lands, Nancy Jardini (Morris J. Panner) of Chevy Chase, Md., and Michele Jardini (Sean) Gannon of Hermosa Beach, Calif.; 10 grandchildren, Patrick David Jardini of Houston, Jacqueline Mariana (JJ) Jardini, Catherine Price (Rinnie) Jardini, Grazia Linda (Gracie) of Meadow Lands, Michelina (Mikey) Jardini Panner, David Jardini Panner, Josephine (Joey) Jardini Panner, Martine (Nini) Jardini Panner of Chevy Chase, Orlando Jacob (Jake) Gannon and Eleanor (Elle) Louise Gannon of Hermosa Beach; and a great-grandson, Ethan Patrick Jardini of Navarre, Fla. He will also be missed by his special friends, the Artmans of Norman, Okla., the Kuchta family of Baldwin and the Larragoite family of Annapolis, Md., along with many dear cousins and relatives in Brazil.
His life was devoted to his family and to education. After graduating from Brentwood High School in 1946, Mr. Jardini entered the family masonry business until serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Following his military service, he became the first member of his extended family to attend college, earning a Bachelor of Arts (1956), a Master of Letters (1957) and Ph.D. in Spanish (1967) from the University of Pittsburgh. He began his teaching career at Thomas Jefferson High School in 1956, leaving that school to continue his graduate studies in 1963. He was a Teaching Fellow (1963-64) and Mellon Fellow (1964-65) at the University of Pittsburgh, instructor and assistant professor at Carnegie Mellon University (1965-68), and associate professor and professor at Chatham College (1970-1994). Mr. Jardini retired from Chatham College as Professor Emeritus in 1994. His teaching career also included a long association with the University of Oklahoma, including summer institutes beginning in 1960 and programs at the cultural studies center in Colima, Mexico, from 1967 to 1993.
He was a lifelong resident of Brentwood, member of the Brentwood School Board (1971-1995), co-founder of the Brentwood High School Hall of Fame and an officer of the Brentwood High School Alumni Association since its founding. Mr. Jardini was an inductee of the Brentwood Hall of Fame. He also served the Mon Valley School for Exceptional Children and the Steel Center Area Vocational Technical School as a board member for 22 years, as well as the Carriage House Children’s School, Squirrel Hill, for 18 years. Upon his retirement in 1994, he and his beloved wife, Linda, enjoyed many years of travel throughout the world.

Irene C. Lucas, 85, of Ambridge, died Tuesday, November 19, 2013, in her home, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born July 21, 1928, in Avella, a daughter of the late Andrew and Ann Hnat Curtis.
Mrs. Lucas was a member of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Ambridge, where she was a member of St. Mary’s Bethany Ministry and St. Mary’s Rosary Society. A former CCD teacher, she was also a member of Blue Army and Padre Pio Prayer Group.
She enjoyed craftwork, sewing and decorating.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, are her husband, Dr. Michael Lucas; four brothers, Andrew, John, Charles and Joy Curtis; and two sisters, Mary Dolinar and Anne Richardson.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Andrew (Sharon) Lucas; daughter, Irene E. Lucas; two sons, Edward and Daniel Lucas; eight grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and a sister, Helen E. Smithson.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday in John Syka Funeral Home Inc., 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge. A panachyda service will be held at 9:15 a.m. Monday, November 25, followed by a Divine Liturgy for the repose of her soul at 10 a.m. in St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church with Father David Bosnich officiating. Entombment will follow in Sylvania Hills Mausoleum on what would have been their 63rd wedding anniversary. The happy couple will finally be together again, dancing in the clouds. A parastas service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home and members of St. Mary’s Rosary Society will pray a memorial rosary at 2 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
Hickory U.P. member worked in legal field
Charlotte Y. McCreanor, 68, of Washington, died Thursday, November 21, 2013, in her home.
She was born May 19, 1945, in Washington, a daughter of Charles A. and Josephine Bristor Young.
She graduated from Trinity High School in 1963 and Penn Commercial College in August 1964. Later on, she also did Paralegal Home Study Courses.
She worked for the law firm of Fergus, Martin and Fergus in Washington for about 12 years. She then became a secretary in the U.S. District Court for The Honorable Gustave Diamond. She then came back to Washington and worked briefly for attorney Lawrence Zewe. Upon Zewe’s death, she returned to Pittsburgh and worked for various firms there. She worked the longest at the law firm of Zimmer Kunz. She worked about 35 years in the legal field, as both a secretary and paralegal.
She was a member of Hickory Women’s Club, Cross Creek Grange, Senior Citizen Center at Cross Creek and Red Hat Society. She served as president of the Women’s Club and master of the Grange. She also volunteered at Hospice of Washington and Washington Hospital, where she was chairwoman of one of the units for several years. In addition, she helped with the Republican Party of Washington County for several years.
On July 23, 1977, she married Richard A. McCreanor, formerly of Rea, who is deceased.
She was baptized at Hickory United Presbyterian Church and served as a deacon for several years.
A sister, Karen Young Nicholls, survives. She was stepmother of five, Margaret, Trudy, Richard, Wendy and Philip McCreanor; stepgrandmother of six; and stepgreat-grandmother of two.
She was also aunt of several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her husband and parents, is a brother, Omar (Jack) Baker.

Cheryl Ann Mossburg, 54, of Washington, died unexpectedly Thursday, November 21, 2013.
She was born April 6, 1959, in Washington, a daughter of the late Gaylord and Ruby Ryan Grimes.
Mrs. Mossburg was a certified nursing assistant at Humbert Lane for 25 years.
She enjoyed gardening, canning, walking, hiking and the outdoors.
Mrs. Mossburg was a member of Claysville United Methodist Church.
On March 5, 1983, she married Robert T. Mossburg, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Jason Robert Mossburg of Washington; two daughters, Mindy Lee (Ernest) Oliver and Melissa Ann Mossburg of Washington; two brothers, Gaylord Grimes of Washington and David (Kellie) Grimes of West Alexander; and two sisters, Brenda (Don) Magill of Eighty Four and Becky (Kenneth) Phillips of Washington.

Julia Patsolic, 92, of Burgettstown, died Thursday, November 21, 2013, in New Haven Court Senior Living, Greensburg.
She was born January 14, 1921, in Bertha Mine, a daughter of the late Steve and Pearl Grabania Roman.
Prior to retirement, Mrs. Patsolic was employed at Colliers Steel in Weirton, W.Va.
She was a member of St. John Byzantine Catholic Church in Avella and was past president of its Altar Society.
On July 13, 1942, she married Joseph Patsolic, who died in 2005.
Surviving are a son, Joseph (Sandra) Patsolic of Carlisle; a daughter, Patricia (Floyd) Marshall of Mt. Pleasant; a sister, Helen Ratkovich of Burgettstown; grandchildren Julia Marshall, Sean Marshall, Jessica Kepchar and Lindsay Gilliland; and great-grandchildren Hannah Marshall Ridge and Drew and Brandon Kepchar.
Deceased are her brothers, John, Steve and Michael Roman; and her sisters, Pearl Dellaria, Sophie Matchett and Mary Mays.

Robert Armond “Pap” Preaux, 89, of Canonsburg, formerly of Cecil, died Wednesday, November 20, 2013, in his home.
He was born January 24, 1924, in Cecil, a son of the late Hector and Amanda Emplet Preaux.
Mr. Preaux was a member of Cecil American Legion Post 793 and Strabane Slovene National Benefit Society.
He played soccer with the Cecil French Club as a young man and enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports. He also liked polka music.
Mr. Preaux worked as a transporter for Mayview State Hospital.
Surviving are his wife, Jacqueline Preaux of Canonsburg; son Robert Preaux of Canonsburg; daughter Cheryl (Ed) Sushacek of Pittsburgh; three grandchildren, Annie Preaux of Canonsburg, Cheyene Edwards of Carnegie and Connor Sushacek of Pittsburgh; first wife, Delores Preaux of Bridgeville; sister Jean (Jim) Thompson of Lawton, Okla.; two stepsons, Barry (Nancy) Endy of Canonsburg and Jason (Stacey) Endy of Canonsburg; two stepdaughters, Karen (Mark) Jacobs of Eighty Four and Janice (Kevin) Quinlan of Sturgeon; six stepgrandchildren, Doug Endy, Matt Endy, Mark Jacobs, Sarah Orris, Dale Quinlan and Raven Porto; and five stepgreat-grandchildren, Noah, Carson, Della, Madeline and Henry.

Ann Panjuscsek Seaman, 92, of Weirton, W.Va., formerly of Avella, died at 11:50 a.m. Wednesday, November 20, 2013, in Sienna Woods Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Wintersville, Ohio.
She was born October 12, 1921, in Penowa, a daughter of the late Charles Sr. and Anna Firczak Panjuscsek.
Mrs. Seaman was employed as a clerk by Friendly Cleaners of Weirton for 35 years.
She had lived in Weirton since 1940.
Mrs. Seaman was a member of St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church of Weirton and St. Michael Roman Catholic Church of Avella.
She enjoyed reading, crocheting and spending time with her family.
On January 27, 1940, she married Paul Seaman, who died March 25, 1965.
Surviving are a daughter, Ann Margaret Brandenburg of Paris; four grandchildren, Rebecca (Dale) Lynn, Denise (John) Reardon, Raymond P. Brandenburg Jr. and James (Lindsay) Brandenburg; eight great-grandchildren, Rachel, Marissa, Shannon, Kristen, Julianna, Tricia, Christopher and Brandon.
Deceased, in addition to her husband and parents, are two brothers, Mike and Peter Panjuscsek; and a son-in-law, Raymond Brandenburg Sr.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no public visitations. Claysville resident enjoyed fishing
David Andrew Smith Sr., 62, of Claysville, passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 20, 2013.
Born in Beaver Falls August 11, 1951, he was a son of the late Nina Smith.
He was the husband of Susan C. Smith of Claysville; father of David Andrew Smith Jr., Michele Pinto and James (Tammy) Smith; grandfather of Jeremy Smith, Alexandria Johnson, Grace Pinto, Wyatt Johnson, Ella Pinto, Jessica Smith and Virginia Smith; brother of Richard Francis Smith; uncle of Ricky Smith; and nephew of William (Esther) Shinke.
Mr. Smith enjoyed fishing.
