U.S. Army veteran was self-employed carpenter
John Myrgo Jr., 85, of Canonsburg, died Sunday, November 24, 2013, in Canonsburg Hospital.
He was born March 11, 1928, in Canonsburg, a son of the late John and Mary Seman Myrgo.
Mr. Myrgo was a 1946 graduate of Trinity High School. He was very family-oriented, enjoying time spent with his family, and he loved his dog, Penny.
Prior to his retirement, he worked as a self-employed carpenter.
Mr. Myrgo served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Surviving are his wife, Nezzie England Myrgo; a son, John Myrgo III and wife Candice of Eighty Four; a daughter, Pamela Koscho of Finleyville; a brother, William Myrgo of Canonsburg; a sister, Eleanor Slapnik of California state; two grandchildren, Corey Koscho and Bethany Koscho; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two brothers, Andrew Myrgo and Harry Myrgo; and three sisters, Eva Myrgo, Mary Novak and Julie Wright.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Sollon Funeral Home Ltd., 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, J. David Sollon, supervisor, Phillip L. Sollon, director, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 27, with the Rev. Stephen Parkhill officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
