Homemaker enjoyed grandchildren, casino trips
Ruthann Foringer Coughenour, 74, of Washington, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, November 23, 2013, in her home.
She was born August 5, 1939, in Washington, a daughter of the late Albert Merle and Catherine Sakerka Foringer.
On March 29, 1963, she married David E. Coughenour, who passed away February 21, 1997.
Mrs. Coughenour was a 1957 graduate of Trinity High School and was a homemaker.
She was a den mother for her son’s Cub Scout Troup 1138.
Mrs. Coughenour enjoyed times with her grandchildren, especially around the holidays. She always looked forward to casino trips with her friends, Janice and Judy, whether she won or not. She particularly enjoyed browsing Roger’s Flea Market vendors.
Surviving are a son, Mark David Coughenour (Deanna), and a daughter, Michelle Lynn Pittas (Kevin), both of Washington; three grandchildren, Tanner David Coughenour, Victoria Ann and Colin David Pittas; brothers Eugene Foringer and Donald Foringer; sisters Barbara Desmond and Maryellen McCloskey; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, November 26. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
