Ironworker enjoyed the outdoors

Erwin Frank Rohrbacher Jr., 64, of Washington, died Sunday, October 13, 2013, in Washington Hospital, following a five-month illness.

He was born November 29, 1948, in Washington, a son of the late Erwin F. Rohrbacher Sr. and Sarah A. Marra Rohrbacher.

Mr. Rohrbacher was a graduate of Trinity High School and attended a trade school for welding.

He was employed as an ironworker for Local 3 for 35 years.

He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting and golf with his best friend Tom and grandson William Rickus III. He also enjoyed riding his Harley and watching his granddaughter Hailey play softball.

On August 27, 2010, he married Rita Locy Rickus, his companion for 24 years prior to marriage, who survives.

Also surviving are three sons, John “J.D.” Rohrbacher of Canonsburg, Jason (Kimberly) Rickus of Elm Grove, W.Va., and William (Tiffany) Rickus of Washington; a daughter, Stacey Vance of Claysville; a brother, Robert (Sherry) Rohrbacher of Washington; a sister, Joyce (Rich) Hoscinsky of East Brunswick, N.J.; eight grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a mother-in-law, Wilma Locy.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Services will be held at a later date in Mt. Hermon Baptist Church.
